Dessert, Justice Souter?

Posted 25 Jul 2005 in Uncategorized

You’ve probably already heard this story, but it’s too good not to share just in case you haven’t.

After the June 23rd decision by the Supreme Court to obliterate personal property rights in favor of government profits (read: Eminent Domain), someone decided not to simply bend over and take it up the caboose anymore. Read the whole story here.

Basically, they’re using the Supreme Court’s decision (which Justice Souter helped pass) to steal Souter’s own land from him in favor of something called the “Lost Liberty Hotel.”

The proposed development, called “The Lost Liberty Hotel” will feature the “Just Desserts Cafe” and include a museum, open to the public, featuring a permanent exhibit on the loss of freedom in America. Instead of a Gideon’s Bible each guest will receive a free copy of Ayn Rand’s novel “Atlas Shrugged.”

If this goes through, I’m gonna have to plan a trip to enjoy dinner there. I hear the irony is delicious.
