In nomini Democrats, et filii, et spiritus sancti…

Liberals went postal earlier this week, denouncing Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist for appearing at a religious rally, trying to stir up conservative support to block the Democrat filibuster of Bush’s judicial nominee. Frist was pushing for a simple up-down vote on judicial candidates rather than this partisan game-playing. The libs have been crying foul all week, “separation of church & state”, blah blah blah. Aside from the fact that such language doesn’t exist in the Constitution, I’m guessing these same libs were busy watching the Lifetime channel when John Kerry was preaching, er, speaking in a church. And when Bill Clinton did it. And when Hillary Rodham did it. And when Jesse Jackson did it. And Al Gore....

Fostering homophobia

What the hell is the Texas legislature thinking? I heard about this last week, but got distracted before I could rant about it. They’re pushing legislation which would require changes in the state’s Child Protective Services (a Gestapo-esque group I’m not too fond of as it is) which would eliminate gays or bisexuals from being allowed as foster parents. “It is our responsibility to make sure that we protect our most vulnerable children, and I don’t think we are doing that if we allow a foster parent that is homosexual or bisexual,” said Republican Rep. Robert Talton, who introduced the amendment. What does he think he’s protecting our “most vulnerable” children from? Does this ignorant fuck think that as...

Sicko (no, not in THAT way)

The past few days, I’ve been helping my girlfriend sort and pack her stuff for next week’s move, as well as put on a garage sale to sell off all the stuff she doesn’t want. Add to that the fact that I’ve been running a low-grade fever for the past three days, and I’m pretty worn out at the moment. Until I can get my collective shite together, check out this hillarious little blog I found called Blame Bush. It’s a highly tongue-in-cheek satire on “liberal thought” (an oxymoron if I ever heard one!). And it’s even more fun when you realize how close his posts are to actual DNC platforms!

OKC remembered

Let’s take a moment today to show respect for the 168 people (including 19 children and infants) murdered 10 years ago in the Oklahoma City bombing. Last night, I was watching a news story on the memorial as well pre-coverage of today’s event. Watching the file footage again, it seems hard to believe that someone could be so hate-filled as to assassinate so many of his fellow countrymen. Well, let me correct myself, fellow countrymen, women, and CHILDREN. It’s important that we remember why it happened. I’m as outraged as anyone over the cause of the bombing: it was a direct response to then-Attorney General Janet Reno’s order to incinerate 80 Branch Davidian men, women, and children in Waco...

I’ve heard of CYA, but come on…

Have you seen the military’s newest body armor? It’s good that our soldiers’ asses will be literally covered. I just hope it doesn’t make ‘em run as if they’re wearing Depends.

A few good men, really

What’s the big deal about the Minuteman Project? There are some people getting their panties in a wad over what amounts to enforcement of U.S. law concerning illegal immigration. I repeat, illegal immigration. I’ve heard the jokes that the cure to the border problem would be to gather a bunch of skinheads and racists, give them each a rifle and a free home along the border, and let them keep out the illegal aliens. Well, that’s sorta what’s happening with the Minuteman Project. Without the skinheads & racists part. Or the rifles. Or the free homes along the border. The only real similarity is that U.S. citizens are working together to patrol the border to help report illegal border...

Attention Bush-haters…

I first saw this on Hector’s blog (originally posted on Six Meat Buffet), had to repost it here. One of the best things I’ve read in months! This man took no shit, and I can just imagine him saying something like this. A message from the ghost of General Patton.

Hello, Pot? This is Kettle…

I was dumbfounded today to read former president Clinton’s assessment of the Pope’s life work. On the flight over to Rome, he was quoted as saying that the Pope “may have had a mixed legacy”. You gotta be shittin’ me. I don’t necessarily agree with all the Pope did or said. I’m not even a fan of the Catholic religion. But geez, when you’re going over to be part of the U.S. delegation for the Pope’s funeral, that wouldn’t be the time to badmouth the guy, even in such mealymouth language. I’m guessing Clinton never heard that saying about people who live in glass houses. Hey, we all have our frailties and shortcomings. But of all people, he’s not...

What’s the punishment for treason?

Posted 07 Apr 2005 in communism, military, treason, war

Hrmm. Used to be, those who committed treason were executed. Nowdays, apparently the punishment is to be given lucrative book deals. Jane Fonda, aka Hanoi Jane, is making the rounds on talk shows, trying to push her new autobiography. I was stunned to see her dried-up old self on Letterman last night. Man, the years have NOT been kind (which is great, seeing as how I obviously don’t like her). Personally, I’m appalled that she was never arrested for committing treason against the United States. The U.S. Constitution defines treason this way: “Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying war against them, or, in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort.” Well, if going...

Does anyone else find it ironic that Bill Clinton is gonna be a part of the US delegation to the Pope’s funeral?
