Have any of you heard what a dhimmi is? No? I haven’t either, until today.
Ok, have you heard of apartheid?
Same thing. Just different races & religions. Instead of white people discriminating against and persecuting black people, dhimmi represents the Islamic version of the “N” word, as it relates to Jews & Christians. It’s the way Islam refers to all non-Muslims under Islamic rule.

I’ve done a bit of reading about Islam over the past few years. And everything I’ve read has shown me that Islam is most definitely NOT a religion of peace, as President Bush recently claimed in a politically-correct appeasement speech. I take law-abiding, tolerant, and peaceful Muslims at their word when they say to me that they believe Islam means peace. Further, I take them at their word that they live by that interpretation. But the fact remains that other Muslims surely believe that Islam means death. Death to Christians, Jews, and Hindus; death to unbelievers, heretics, blasphemers, adulterers, and plenty of other categories of human being. And guess what, it’s those Muslims who are killing us. And guess what else? Those other, peace-loving, Muslims aren’t doing enough about it.

Now, before I shift into high gear, let me first say that I don’t believe Islam is complete evil.
It’s just that it seems like that’s what they’ve got written in the Qur’an.
Ok, maybe not complete evil. But enough poison in the Kool-Aid to make it a toxic mix.
Islam, like Christianity, has its share of good and evil throughout history. And both religions have confusing passages in their holy scriptures which speak of love & peace, as well as violence.
The main difference, as I see it, is that Christians embrace the New Testament (translation: more recent) teachings of Jesus Christ regarding forgiveness, love, peace, etc. rather than following Old Testament stories as examples of how to live. Muslims follow the more recent teachings of Mohammed regarding torture, murder, rape, and other acts of random kindness against non-Muslims.
That is not to say that every Muslim is in agreement with the terrorist scumbags who attacked America. In all fairness, several major Muslim organizations throughout North America, including the Council on American-Islamic Relations, the Islamic Society of North America, and the Muslim Students Association, distanced themselves from the cowardly bullshit of September 11, as well they should. The American Muslim Council even issued a public condemnation of the attacks.
On the other hand, we have apologists like Columbia University professor Edward Said comparing the actions of the 9/11 terrorists to the Branch Davidians and the followers of Jim Jones. Mark Juergensmeyer, professor at the University of California, said “Osama bin Laden is to Islam [what] Timothy McVeigh is to Christianity.”
Ok, I see what they’re saying. Religious extremists exist in both religions. Point taken. There are more than enough nutcases to go around. No religion corners the market on crazy.
But it looks like Islam sure does have quite a stockpile of it.
What I don’t understand is, if Islam is all about peace, then where are these nutball terrorists getting the idea that if they kill non-Muslims, especially if they martyr themselves while doing so, they will receive their reward in heaven?
Why are they blowing up men, women, and children who have nothing to do with their struggle or their views?
Why do they commit despicable acts like strapping a Down’s syndrome child with explosives and using them to murder other people?
Please show me where followers of the Bible are doing things like this. Because I can show you where the followers of the Qur’an are doing things like this. And even more are cheering them on.
Show me where thousands of Christians are cheering what David Khoresh did, what Jim Jones did, or what Timothy McVeigh did. Someone show me the Christians who think any of that crap is what the Bible teaches. You won’t find them. Even on Springer. Show me some Jews or Hindus or Bhuddists or any other religion who believe in the kind of barbaric practices followed by Al Qaeda.
You also won’t find Christians calling upon the name of God while they behead Muslims. Or Bhuddists. Or Hindus.
Nope. Only the followers of Islam are doing this.
