Liberal fascists strike again
Why is it that the side that tries to portray itself as being “open” and “tolerant” seems to be the side that is precisely the opposite? Oh wait, I should qualify that. They’re tolerant of anything they agree with. And to them, the word choice is only a polite euphemism for abortion on demand.
Liberals are getting upset about having a statement read which reminds students that Darwin’s Theory of Evolution is, in fact, A THEORY. And to consider the possibility that there may be other explanations to how life began. Seems like a “no duh” kinda thing. As if we shouldn’t even need to remind them of that. But a quick spin around the channels (specifically shows on Animal Planet or Discover Channel) provide many examples in their programming of Darwin’s theory being presented as fact. I’ve also heard many anecdotal examples of people speaking about evolution being fact.
It just amazes me that the columnist I linked above was so outraged that parents would want other ideas taught besides just evolution. “Oh no! We can’t have anything other than evolution taught to kids! That would be heresy!! Wait, not heresy. Because we’re not stupid enough to believe in a religion, which is where that word comes from. And everyone knows we’re too smart for that! So not heresy. But something really really bad. Umm, that would be… racist! Yeah, racist! And sexist! And homophobic! And neo-con! Yeah, that’s it!”
Evidence of the closed-mindedness of these losers? “…all roads in biology do lead back to evolution. For this reason, those who take on Darwin as science will lose every time.” Dailypundit says “Nature is all there is, guys. There ain’t no more. It’s just you, me, and the universe” Oh please. Statements like that show just how close-minded they are. How unwilling to even consider the most remote possibility that there may be a Higher Power. But the anti-God crowd refuses to even allow discussion of other theories, despite all the scientific and factual data which fly in the face of Darwin’s theory of evolution.
It comes down to this. There’s no way to be sure one way or the other. BOTH sides are theories. Both sides require faith in something you can’t completely prove.
So?
Why do we get so bunjed up about stuff like this? Why can’t liberals and conservatives just agree to disagree, and present the relevant science from both sides in the classroom? And just let it go at that? Let kids’ parents help make up their minds, not teachers on the government payroll.
No, can’t have that. That would be tolerant…
