I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. What the f**k?

One of today’s headlines is all about how the terrible tsunami that occurred this week could also happen here in the United States. What is the matter with some people? Have we got scientists who are just craving attention or what? It would be just as credible to get out there and warn people that an earth-ending comet could hit the planet and wipe us out at any time, too. What’s up with the Associated Press that they report such nonsense? Of course a tsunami could hit the US! Hell, there could be a gigantic earthquake that would rend the continent in two. The sun could explode and snuff out our existence. Anything could happen at any time!! Why be a Chicken Little and worry about every possible catastrophe? Why not concentrate on things we CAN have an effect on, like helping all those poor people hurt and displaced by the flood waters?

Oh wait, that would mean we’d have to use our brains.

Nevermind.
