The Grinch didn’t steal Christmas…
Ok, so who did? Where did Christmas go? It’s been banished. Stolen by the politically-correct Left. It’s been forcibly removed by those in our society who are so incredibly afraid of offending anyone. Well, afraid of offending anyone but average Americans. Specifically Christians. Apparently it’s ok to offend Christians, Republicans, and white men. And it’s especially good if you happen to offend people who are all three! Yes, Virginia, there IS a Grinch. And he rides a donkey.
I’ll get into the whole topic of self-loathing and transferrance in the Democrat party in another post.
I’m old enough to remember when most folks wished each other a Merry Christmas and Happy Hannukah instead of the vacuous “Happy Holidays”. What happened to Americans that we so willingly gave up one of our most special holidays? Think about it. This is the one time in the year when our me-focused society sets aside its selfish ways to think about doing things for other people. That’s a wonderful and incredible thing in and of itself. You don’t even have to be religious or Christian for that to be special. We’ve been making Christmas more secular and more commercial rather than religious, anyway. So what is objectionable about it now? Why this pressing need to get rid of the phrase “Merry Christmas”? Why can’t we (as a society) still say Merry Christmas, or Happy Hannukah, or even Happy Kwanzaa, instead of uttering a neutered phrase like Happy Holidays? When did Americans lose their collective balls? I’m disgusted by our cowardice as a nation, and I refuse to play along with the bastardization of our society. I really hope more folks will continue to wake up (as was evidenced on Nov. 2 of this year) and will take back our country from America’s enemies within.
